Paper Moon Ensemble

Just had to post this photo from The New Crochet, published last year with my "Paper Moon Ensemble" I crocheted it with a paper-like linen yarn from Habu Textiles and edged it with a hand dyed silk ribbon.

Cashmere is divine. No way around it, it is soft and gentle and a pure joy on the needles. The blue here is my mother's favorite, somewhere between sky blue and robin's egg blue, a 5 ply cashmere from Artyarns. Following repeated attempts (and more frogging than I'd like to admit) and numerous consultations with all of my favorite knitting gurus, I am finally knitting my mother the perfect little cashmere scarf, an elegant fiber necklace to keep her warm and chic. It should perform its job well.

Exciting news! With the help of knitting buddies in Israel, I will be giving another workshop in Israel. On Thursday, February 22, Knitting Outside the Box will be hosted by Israeli knitters in Jerusalem. What fun, I can't wait to share lots of ideas and knitting thoughts and wonders with my fellow knitters in one of the most extraordinary cities in the world.
On the home front, my knitting has progressed as I have sat warmed by the light and heat of a fire sitting cozily with my projects beside the fireplace. What bliss, pure bliss and heavenly projects too. Lots of hats, felted bags and the very special " Tunnel of Love" bag, a joy to knit. I will post photos just as soon as I finish it. Friends have all got the knitting bug, is it the cold weather?, the bitter cold just makes everyone want to curl up by the fire and knit, knit, knit.
