Summer Pleasures

It's been awhile since I last posted here. Lots going on, of course, knitting, weaving and writing. On the needles, an almost completed sweater shrug from a great design I found on the Lion Brand website, loads more baby hats, an adorable and chic cotton/rayon flat top hat interspersed with some simple lace, and, I am back to my Shetland Tea Shawl from Meg Swansen's classic collection "A Gathering of Lace". I returned to this spectacular shawl and discovered how much I love knitting it. Not for the faint of heart, it is a challenge, but a sweet one at that. With the right needles, (Addi Lace for me) and plenty of stitch markers, the challenge becomes a bit less onerous with each passing and mistakeless row.

Delighted too, to have finally achieved perfection on some fine crocheted kippot. I am so pleased with the results that I plan to offer a class in this technique. this fall in time for those mid autumn holidays. I've ordered some really fine colors and am planning to crochet more. Now the task will be how to keep these as samples before they get grabbed up by the Ramah boys.

And now off to our upstate house for some much awaited R & R and preparations for our first Ethelridge Road Summer Retreat. Can't wait.

Count me in for the kippah class. Married for 4 years to a craftster and my husband has not gotten one handmade kippah. About time I suppose. - taryn
