At the Arts and Crafts Festival, Pittsfield, Massachusetts

A review of all of the places I bought yarn this summer: The short list: The Pittsfield Arts and Crafts Festival where I found Kay, who dyes beautiful wools and invited me to her spinning group; Twin Hearts Handworks, now in its brand new location, Yarns for Your Soul, Judith Rudnick Kane's awesome yarn emporium in Manchester Center,Vermont: Judith's incredible eye for color and artistic touch is evident throughout her charming shop, and at Colorful Stitches in Lenox, Massachusetts , that gorgeous fiber emporium where my lace retreat participants had an opportunity to explore two full floors of fiber and books (and buy some interesting yarns as well)

What I Knit on Vacation

Everything. Hats, shawls, baby sweater, scarves, lace, bulky, I did it all. It was an all knit all the time summer. I set out with a goal of finishing several long term projects, such as my Shetland Tea Shawl shown above, before I began any new ones, but alas once again, I started a few more, finished a few too and managed still to have quite a few on the needles. I've posted a few photos here. the Sea Swirl capelet knit with Prism lace doubled, my soap slivers bag knit from Tahki "Palma" cotton, Shown on the bottom, another one of my hats - this darling beret is knit from Debbie Bliss "Prima" , a divine bamboo and merino mix.
