Baby Blanket Marathon

Baby blankets are my new focus with the arrival of and impending arrival of several new babies in the family and community. For baby Lev, I knit a block pattern blanket (bottom)using Artyarns Supermerino in a variegated turquoise colorway. Knit on US #8 needles, the finished piece had a lovely drape and was generously sized. I did a seed stitch border all around. Best of all, this yarn came from my vast stash and I love using my stash. Next was the bamboo quickie (middle) created in just days for newest cousin Max Ezekiel. I knit this with Be Sweet's bamboo. Currently on the needles: Jared Flood's bulky lace pattern: "Woolen Leaves" with Cascade's Bulky Alpaca in Natural and my take on String's x's and o's baby design (top) in Artyarns Supermerino and Ultramerino 4 doubled. All in all, my foray into the world of baby sized afghans is a pleasure almost as sweet as the babies themselves. Keep 'em coming... I love knitting these.
